Mike Davis – President & Co-Founder
Michael Davis who is originally from Scarsdale, New York moved to Austin, Texas with his wife Erika in 2010. The couple decided it was time for a new chapter in life and relocated to Austin because of its reputation for being one of the most entrepreneur friendly cities in the country. Michael received degrees in both Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York. Michael’s first opportunity to become an entrepreneur started in college with his company OnOurMap which aimed at creating both printed and interactive maps of college campuses. Michael’s business spirit continued with the generation of multiple ideas that help to simplify people’s lives, his most recent product endeavor being Guardian Trace.
Estella Baytan – Vice President & Co-Founder
Estella Baytan is a native Floridian who moved to Austin, Texas in 2009. Estella’s career has largely been spent in the medical device arena. She has over 7 years of sales and marketing experience working for companies such as Medtronic and St. Jude Medical in the cardiac rhythm management space. Estella has a Master’s Degree in Business from Nova Southeastern University and an undergraduate degree in Cardiopulmonary Sciences from the University of Central Florida. An entrepreneur at heart, Estella has always had the desire to start her own company. One of Estella’s goals is to create products that benefit the lives of people. In June of 2011, the idea of creating Baytan Labs and Guardian Trace came to fruition with her business partner Michael Davis.
